Scenario Continuation
With your draft project charter in hand, you’re now preparing to present it to the plant leadership team. Before moving forward, you need a clear picture of who can impact the project, what their priorities are, and how much influence they hold. This is where the Stakeholder Register comes in.
In your initial discussions with the General Manager and Plant Manager, they point you toward additional financial and regulatory contacts who will play key roles in the project. To prepare, you’ve gathered background information and compiled a document of Stakeholder Profiles. You’ll use this as the basis for building out a complete Stakeholder Register.
Stakeholder Register
The Stakeholder Register is used to identify, categorize, and analyze individuals and groups who have an interest in or influence over the project. This tool helps the project manager understand how to engage each stakeholder appropriately and plan communication strategies that support project success.
Objective
Create a Stakeholder Register that:
- Identifies all internal and external stakeholders relevant at this stage of the project
- Assesses each stakeholder's level of interest and level of influence
- Describes each stakeholder's role and expectations
- Outlines a tailored engagement strategy for key stakeholders
